We decided on another beach day today, but to stay closer, so we made our way over to Pine Island Beach which is just minutes from where we are staying. We passed Weeki Watchee, a spring with live mermaids, but they are off season right now, so we will have to wait for another time to see that. It has not been as warm as I would like and very windy when it comes to swimming, but it feels so good just to lay in the sand. Elle and I of course adorned our matching swimsuits.
Lili gave me lots of cuddles. She has her own towel, but she was sure it was better if we shared.
Elle dug herself a hole, first with intent to go to China, then after awhile just deep enough to bury herself.
After the beach we drove over to the town of Homosassa to a place called The Freezer for some fresh shrimp. It is a neat place that used to to a freezer where all the fishermen came in with their boats to deliver their days catch. Now you can drive up to eat or pull your boat into their docks. The first time I came here was by boat. The shrimp is great and the salmon spread is another one of my favorites to get there. Puppy’s are welcomed also!
